2025 International Remote Sensing Training Program: Delegation Visits North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC) Suwannee Valley
As part of the 2025 International Remote Sensing Training Program, our team had the opportunity to visit the North Florida Research and Education Center (UF IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC)) at the Suwannee Valley campus.
We were honored to learn from Dr. Vivek Sharma, who delivered an insightful lecture on precision irrigation and its role in enhancing sustainable agricultural practices. One highlight was the introduction to the Florida Stakeholder Engagement Program (STEP), which includes an innovative corn-growing competition designed to engage local participants and promote data-driven farming.
During the visit, we also toured NFREC's facilities, including their advanced Variable Rate Irrigation (VRI) system—an impressive demonstration of how technology is transforming modern agriculture.
