From May 17 to 25, 2025, the CTCID Secretariat, together with this year’s participants, visited the University of Florida’s Remote Sensing Center to complete an intensive international training program in remote sensing technologies. The program offered hands-on learning about the application of remote sensing and AI technologies in agriculture, water resource management, and water quality improvement. Key topics included precision irrigation, machine learning, and UAV-based detection.

The delegation also visited several important institutions and unique hydrological sites in Florida, including the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and the Suwannee Valley branch of the North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC), gaining valuable insights into local practices and innovations.

Mrs. Wen-Fu Shih, wife of former Remote Sensing Center Director Professor Sun-Fu Shih, joined the opening ceremony and final presentations, offering her encouragement and recognition to the participants for their hard work and dedication.

The CTCID Secretariat will host a Knowledge Sharing Forum in Taipei on June 18, focusing on smart irrigation management and international remote sensing practices. Participants will share their key takeaways from the trip and explore practical applications in their respective fields.
