Fostering Collaboration: University of Florida Scholars' Visit to Taiwan

From April 9th to April 11th, Dr. Kati Migliaccio and Dr. Jasmeet Judge from the University of Florida embarked on a visit to various academic and research institutions in Taiwan. The purpose of their visit was to collaborate on the remote sensing program, exchange knowledge, and explore potential research partnerships in the fields of management, space and remote sensing research, agricultural engineering, and hydraulics.

During their visit to Taiwan, they visited several key institutions, including the Chising Management Office, Taoyuan Management Office, Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research at National Central University (NCU), Agricultural Engineering Research Center, Tainan Hydraulics Laboratory at National Cheng Kung University, Kaohsiung Management Office, and Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station.

The visit of the two scholars from the University of Florida to various academic and research institutions in Taiwan served as a platform for fruitful discussions, knowledge exchange, and the exploration of more potential collaboration opportunities aside from the remote sensing program. The interactions with representatives from management offices, research centers, and agricultural institutions underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing pressing challenges related to urban development, environmental sustainability, and agricultural innovation. Moving forward, the University of Florida looks forward to deepening its partnerships with Taiwanese institutions and contributing to impactful research endeavors.
